Vile graffiti attack on constituency office of Tory MSPs Edward Mountain and Jamie Halcrow Johnston
Foul graffiti scrawled on the windows of the Inverness constituency offices of two Conservative & Unionist Party MSPs has been reported to police.
A poster behind glass of Highlands and Islands MSP Edward Mountain was defaced yesterday with black marker pen, with the words "s*** hair c***" scribbled across his forehead.
There was also an Adolf Hitler-style moustache added to his upper lip.
A photo of Jamie Halcro Johnston MSP, who shares the constituency office, was also vandalised with a phallic symbol.
The window was previously cracked in a past act of vandalism.
The targeting of a political office follows the smashing of windows of the Yes Scotland premises on the city’s Huntly Street back in September.
Mr Mountain said: "It was done when the person who mans the office was out for lunch.
"As puerile and childish as it was, for somebody to do that, I feel sorry for them if that's the best they've got to do.
"For the person who works in the office, who is a relatively young caseworker, I think it's quite disturbing.
"I think that, as elected representatives, I fully understand that not everyone will support what we do, but I think that people should give us the space to do the job we're doing without being offensive."
The MSP also posted a social media response to the incident: "Thanks to the person who defaced our office. I hope you have a happy Christmas."
Mr Mountain said that the vandalism had been raised with Police Scotland.
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
