Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances were called to the A9 near Newtonmore tonight after a one-vehicle crash.
A spokesperson told the Strathy the call had gone in at 6.17pm and appliances were sent from Kingussie, Newtonmore and Pitlochry.
The north bound carriageway at Etteridge, near the Raliabeag junction was still closed earlier this evening as police officers guided traffic through.
But Traffic Scotland were still advising motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
They were also advised to be prepared for lengthier journeys.
The SFRS spokesperson confirmed that the fire brigades have all left the scene now, having got their stop notices at 7pm.
