Final appeal to join Boat of Garten watchdog





Time is running out to get nominations in to ensure Boat of Garten gets a new watchdog.

Highland Council is reminding anyone interested in standing to represent their local community in the interim community council elections that there is now less than a week to get their applications in.

This is the last opportunity in 2022 for eight Highland community councils to form.

There are four vacancies to be filled in Boat of Garten which has a maximum membership of seven.

A council spokesperson said: "Completed nomination forms must be submitted in person or by email to the appropriate ward manager detailed in the notice of election which is published on the Highland Council's website before 12 noon next Monday (October 10).

​The other seven community councils that are looking to form are:

Acharacle Community Council – maximum membership 8 & vacancies 5;

Conon Bridge Community Council – maximum membership 8 & vacancies 6;

Cradlehall and Westhill Community Council – maximum membership 12 & vacancies 7;

Culloden Community Council – maximum membership 9 & vacancies 6;

East Nairnshire Community Council – maxiumum membership 8 & vacancies 8;

Melvich Community Council – maximum membership 8 & vacancies 5;

Shieldaig Community Council – maximum membership 8 & vacancies 8.
