Fault at Stirling sparks disruption to train services on Highland Main Line

Damage to the overhead lines at Stirling is causing disruption on trains between Inverness and Edinburgh this morning.

Although services are returning to normal, disruption is expected to last until 9.30am.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “We had received reports of damage to the overhead lines at Stirling station, platform 7. Services are returning to normal.

“Staff onsite have carried out work to allow us to run trains through the station again apart from through platform 7, we now work to get things back to normal as quickly as we can but alterations can be expected.

“Disruption to services may still be ongoing until our staff and trains are back in position.”
