Vice captain Douglas Spencer initiated the idea for once the lockdown ends.

He believes the key workers deserve some reward for the lives they have saved during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Spencer said: “We are all grateful for the dedication they have shown and for putting their own lives on the line for the benefit of us all.

"Once golf is available again we hope that many of these brave workers will take the time to relax and enjoy a day’s golf at our course – they richly deserve it “ said Spencer.

In addition to golf, club steward, John Mackie, will provide all NHS and care home workers with complimentary coffee and bacon roll before or after play.
