A casualty of Friday afternoon’s A9 smash at between Kingussie and Kincraig is ‘serious’ but stable in Raigmore Hospital, police have confirmed.

It was just after 4pm when the emergency services were called out.

As a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Around 4.05pm on Friday, 31 May, 2024 police received a report of a four-car crash on the A9 near Kingussie.

"Emergency services attended and the 80-year-old male driver was taken to Raigmore Hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

“The driver of another vehicle, a 36-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for treatment.”

The road was closed for some six hours.

“Enquiries into the incident are continuing.”
