Emergency services attending at scene of two car crash on A86 near Laggan

The A86 Newtonnmore-Fort William road is currently restricted in both directions after a crash believed to involve two cars.

Emergency vehicles are attending the scene following the incident which occurred at around 9am at Balgowan by Laggan on the corss-country road.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson they have despatched appliances from a number of stations because of the logistics with the road accident being in a remote location.

The spokesperson said crews were despatched from Pitlochry and Fort William along with the heavy rescue vehicle from Inverness and appliances from Aviemore and the Community Response Unit at Newtonmore to make sure that assistance got to the scene as quickly as possible.

Traffic Scotland is advising that motorists approach the scene with caution.

The police have also been contacted for comment.
