Don't harp on about doing it – just do it!
Residents in the strath are being given the chance to at least try and make some sweet music – and all for free.
The Highland Branch of the Clarsach Society is offering taster harp sessions.
The clarsach – to give the harp its Gaelic name – has a long and proud history in the Highlands.
Harpist and branch spokeswoman Emma Wright said: “The clarsach is a wonderful instrument for both adults and children to experience.
“All ages are welcome to our ‘Come-and-try a Harp’ sessions in Kingussie, Aviemore and Grantown. Come along, have a look and listen, try out the harps and maybe even start to learn a tune.”
She said the sessions lasting around half-an-hour are free, harps are provided, and no musical experience is necessary.
They are being held in Kingussie on Monday, February 27 (3pm to 4.45pm) at Talla nan Ros; Aviemore on Tuesday, February 28 (2.30pm-4.30pm) at the village’s community centre meeting room and Grantown on Tuesday, March 21 (2pm-4.45pm) at The Pagoda on the town’s Seafield Avenue.
Places are limited so booking is essential and can be done so by emailing emma@highlandharpist.scot
