While east and westbound traffic is blocked on the A86 in Badenoch, there is also major disruption for Highland-bound traffic south of the area, with A9 closed in Highland Perthshire.

Police Scotland have confirmed that the A9 remains closed at Ballinluig due to a four vehicle crash which was reported around 8.15am.

“Please avoid the area if possible.” advised a spokesperson for the force this morning.

A diversion is in place northbound via the A822 at Dunkeld, then the A826 and A827 before re-joining the A9 north of Ballinluig.

Southbound traffic is being diverted on the A924 to Bridge of Cally, A93 to Blairgowrie and then A923 to Dunkeld before re-joining the A9.
