Covid-19 steals Aviemore's 'Thunder'

Badenoch and Strathspey's glens will not echo to the thunder of Harley-Davidsons this year.

Dunedin Chapter spokesman George 'Mad Dog' McGuire told the Strathy this afternoon that the desperately sad decision had been taken to cancel the event in the light of the Covid-19 lockdown.

"We're absolutely gutted," he said. "But frankly in the great scheme of things there are, of course, more important issues at stake.

"As we were holding our latest internet conference we were seeing the latest figures of victims and cases and frankly the decision was only too clear for us.

"It's desperately sad but we're getting plenty of feedback already to endorse the cancellation, the way things are.

"Next year I promise we'll be back and we'll have a hell of a party."
