There are only hours left now for budding Strathfest contenders.

Organisers have put out an alert that the deadline to enter this year's virtual festival is Monday.

And performances will have to be submitted by March 1.

"We’re using a new platform called Play and Perform," said festival chairperson Mary-Ann Connolly.

"We sincerely hope local musicians of all ages will enter. Other than choirs we can offer a similar range of classes to those which the festival has included for over 60 years.

"We can accept solo performances in the open category."

A few points to keep in mind when making an entry:

1. Record your performance on your phone or tablet. Make sure your device is virus free and stable. The video must be one continuous and unedited performance.

2. Remember when recording to look towards the light. Avoid having a window or light behind you.

3. If you are an instrumentalist, make sure that your technique is clearly in sight (the adjudicator needs to see this).

4. Introduce yourself with your name, title of the piece and class number relating to your entry.

5. Explain where and under what conditions you are recording to conform with Scottish Government guidelines.

6. Videos and copies of music must be uploaded by Monday.

"Most of all, remember to smile and enjoy!"

The festival adjudication will take place during the week of March 8- 2.
