Compacted snow now on strath roads

No new snow has been recorded over night on Badenoch and Strathspey's roads according to Highland Council's 7.47am conditions report.

But negative temperatures throughout the area have resulted in compacted snow on routes.

All are being treated by blading and gritting, with primary and secondary routes given priority.

"There were no known overnight issues."

On neighbouring Inverness roads, an inch of snow cover from overnight showers on low roads was recorded.

Main high roads have a fresh covering on top of old hard packed/frozen snow on high side roads. Gritters are out on all routes.

Maps of the council’s gritting routes by priority and policy are available online
