Charities have received thousands from The Rotary Club of Spey Valley after last month’s hugely successful inaugural classic car tour.

“We’re delighted with the amount of money raised - £9,000,” said club president Pam Cairns.

“This money was split equally among the three nominated charities: Macmillan Cancer Support, Aquabox, Rotary Club of Spey Valley Charitable Trust.”

At a recent club meeting the president presented Scilla Laing, of Grantown Macmillan Cancer Support, with a cheque for £3,000.

The tour was backed by Arnold Clark BMW Inverness, starting and finishing in Aviemore.

On receipt of the cheque Scilla reminded members that all the money raised in the Highlands goes to support cancer sufferers in the Highlands through the financing of an oncologist at Raigmore Hospital, the provision of Macmillan Nurses or individual advice and support for cancer patients.

Following on from the success of September's Car Tour the club has announced that there will be another Classic, Sports and EV Charity Car Tour on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
