Grantown celebrating 'fair' old success

Grantown Museum is celebrating a successful arts and craft Christmas Fair over the week.

"We had 27 artists and craftspeople presenting their work," said organiser Suzi Wilson, who starred alongside them with her own creation – a magnificent illuminated wooden nativity star, which drew critical approval.

The show featured a wide range of unique artworks from across the strath and beyond, while also proving a warm shelter from the winter weather.

Fair-goers were treated to an invigorating hot chocolate and a mince pie.

The final weekend also featured a well-received evening of live music on Saturday night where proceedings included favourite violinist Paul Anderson, whose Highland Symphony proved such a success at the recent Fiddle Festival in the Strathspey capital.

The virtuoso and composer performed with singer Shona Donaldson, presenting a selection of traditional favourites.

Also well received were the The Braeriach Quartet, Grantown’s newly formed string quartet, who contribited another festive selection.
