A LOCAL MSP has asked the strath’s schoolchildren to show their stamp.

Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, has written to all primary schools to highlight the Royal Mail Christmas Children’s Stamp Art Completion.

The competition is open to all primary school children aged between 4-11, including those who are home schooled, and two winning designs will be chosen in September to become a 1st and 2nd class Christmas stamp.

Mr Thompson said:“The Royal Mail competition is an excellent initiative which will encourage children to think about what Christmas really means to them and their families.

“As well as reflecting on the meaning of Christmas, the competition is a great opportunity to encourage children to develop their artistic skills.

“I hope as many schools in the constituency as possible can get involved and encourage entries ahead of the July 19th closing date.”
