The Met Office has repeated its yellow weather warning for snow and ice in the strath and beyond.

“There is a chance of disruption and difficult travel conditions due to snow and ice,” was this morning’s report.

A spokesperson at Highland Council confirmed: “Many schools and nurseries are impacted by the adverse weather and are either closed or with delayed opening this morning.”

But so far no schools in Badenoch and Strathspey have had to close.

This morning’s conditions report issued at 6.06am for the strath confirmed: “Snow on most roads this morning with more expected throughout today.

“All routes are being treated, with caution advised particularly on rural and side roads.

“There have been no known overnight issues.”
