NOW WHERE WERE WE..? The new cardboard cop has taken up his place.

Carrbridge has a new special constable.

‘Ewen’ has succeeded the beat cop who got beat up last month.

Neighbour Dave Mackenzie has posted his gratitude for the new appointment, on behalf of a community wanting to see traffic going slower down its main street.

“I would like to thank the kind person who has donated another local policeman to our village,” he posted today.

“This one is called Ewen after our local policeman for many years Ewen Garratt who is sadly missed.”

Fellow former policeman and villager Pete Carson was just as delighted to see the new arrival and offered to let Ewen know.

His communication prompted this response from Mr Garrett: “Thanks Pete, that is very nice to know. I just hope they do the trick and slow the traffic down.”
