Residents in Carrbridge are being asked to shared their views on pathways that could be improved around the village.

Part of the Carrbridge Capercaillie Conservation Strategy highlights ‘opportunities to enjoy the Carrbridge area while minimising impacts on capercaillie as a key action.

Issie Inglis, of the Carrbridge Capercaillie Group, said: “This is a great opportunity to improve some key paths and outdoor spaces in the village for visitors and residents alike to enjoy, whilst at the same time allowing capercaillie and other wildlife the space they need to thrive.

“The consultation booklet shows some ideas where improvements could be made but other suggestions are most welcome.

"We’d love to hear residents' thoughts.”

Packs with consultation forms have been mailed to households in the Carrbridge area.

The group is urging any residents who have not yet taken part in the consultation to submit any responses by next Monday (May 24) when the consultation closes.

Ms Inglis said: “We have been delighted to see a number of responses already coming in and the more we receive, the better placed we will be to identify the priority paths and deliver the community’s suggestions.”

Residents in Carrbridge and the vicinity who have not received a pack can email capercaillie@cairngorms.co.uk, or find the consultation booklet online here
