Fire crews dampen down at Mullochard after the inferno

A Carrbridge couple have thanked the emergency services for trying to save their home from a devastating fire on Friday afternoon (October 7).

The blaze ripped through the roof of Mullochard, the attractive stone villa on the Carr Road between the village and Dulnain Bridge.

Emergency services from Aviemore and Inverness were quickly on the scene after the call went out around 2.15pm but the blaze had already taken hold of the upper storey.

A statement was issued to the Strathy this afternoon by Linda Selvey and Colin Smith.

“We would like to thank all the fire personnel who attended the fire at our home yesterday.

“And we would like to thank all our family and friends and the wider Carr-Bridge community who have rallied to help us.

“We are naturally devastated but are so grateful that no-one was at home at the time and that ourselves, our two boys Jamie and Robbie and our dogs are all safe and well.”
