Can you help find missing Aviemore man Rod?
The search for Rodrigo Falcon has concentrated on the southern end of the village and beyond given his last known movement.
A friend, who did not wish to be named, said he had left his coat at The Vault which was unusual in itself.
There is understood to have been a sighting of Rod by a gritter driver at the Lynwilg junction at around 5.30am on Sunday although that has not been confirmed by police to the Strathy.
The friend said: “Folk who know him well can’t think of any good reason why he might have been going that way.
“The area that’s being searched by the community group has therefore been around the dog park, Lynwilg, Alt-na-Criche, a bit further south, and also towards Glenmore in case he tried to walk to work.”
She added: “We’re keen that any drivers who might have seen him or who have dashcam footage get in touch. They might be away down south now and not thinking anything of it but it could be crucial.”
Mr Falcon is described as 5ft 6in, with a tanned complexion, mullet hairstyle with a moustache and beard.
When last seen he was wearing a red jumper and baggy jeans.
Earlier this week police issued the last known photographs of Rod as he headed south on Grampian Road.
Chief Inspector Alasdair McLeod, South Highland Area Commander, said they are growing increasingly concerned for Rodrigo’s welfare.
“It is obvious from the response we have had that there is great concern in the community for his wellbeing and I would like to thank the local community for their assistance so far.
“Local officers, along with specialist officers are continuing to carry out extensive searches.
“We are also identifying further CCTV opportunities in the area and in particular would welcome assistance from local businesses or residents who may have private CCTV.”
