A86 reopened at Newtonmore after two-vehicle crash





Emergency services were called to Newtonmore just before 5pm on Saturday after a campervan ended up on its side following a two-vehicle collision.

The incident happened shortly before 5pm opposite the entrance to Newtonmore's popular Highland Folk Museum.

The Strathy understands the black saloon was occupied by a local motorist who escaped serious injury but required attention from local paramedics.

The visitors in the VW campervan also received attention.

The road – the A86 running between Newtonmore and Kingussie – was closed temporarily while the crash site was examined and cleared but is open now.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Strathy: "There were no serious injuries."
