The Cairngorms National Park Authority is hitting the cinema screen.

The CNPA's next planning committee meeting on Friday will be shown at Grantown's community cinema at the YM community centre.

However, the move is more to do with Covid red tape rather than any aspirations of big screen fame.

A CNPA spokeswoman explained: "There is some question over whether virtual meetings still meet the requirements of legislation so some public bodies will now identify a place where people can view a public meeting rather than from the comfort of their home.

"We assume it will continue until meetings can safely be held in public or until there is some advice from Scottish Government or other conclusive legal advice."

The next planning committee meeting gets under way at 10am and the items to be considered can be found here
