The Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team was called out yesterday evening to assist a walker with a knee injury sustained whilst descending Bynack More by Glenmore.

A CMRT spokesperson said: "Some of the team members went ahead to assess the situation whilst others readied the stretcher for a carry.

"After assessing the casualty the woman was able to be assisted off the hill without use of the stretcher.

"The party was then transported from Bynack Stables to Glenmore by vehicles."

CMRT team leader Iain Cornfoot told the Strathy: "The lady had possible injured some ligaments from a previous injury but she was pretty good to keep going.

"We went up into the area in case she needed to be stretchered off but she managed to walk all the way down to our vehicles which was really good.

"Thankfully it was all downhill for her.

"She was in good spirits."

A total of 12 members of the team were involved in the four-hour call-out.
