Mr Ormiston's caravan was stolen some time through the day on Tuesday.

A well-known Badenoch businessman and equestrian is appealing for the return of his caravan after it was stolen earlier in the week.

The caravan belonging to Ruaridh Ormiston had been parked in the Speyside Beach Meadows in Kingussie by the town's high school when it was taken some time late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Some of the contents of the caravan were later found dumped at the road end for The Dairy at Daviot on the way to Culloden Battlefield.

The owner of Highland Horse Fun said: "This was my own holiday touring caravan stolen.

"I have not even had a chance to go away in it over the last year with the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I had hoped to go away for a few days next week but that will not happen now.

"Any help or sightings from witnesses would be appreciated - someone hopefully saw it leaving Kingussie."

It is a single axle German Hobby Caravan and white with blue striping.

Mr Ormison said the items were dumped at Daviot some time between 7.30pm on Tuesday and 9am yesterday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of the theft of a caravan from a field near Ruthven Road in Kingussie around 9pm on Wednesday.

"The caravan is believed to have been stolen between 7.30pm on Tuesday and 9am the next day.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact 101, quoting incident 3419 of 11 August.”
