Bridge at Slochd is closed to traffic by Highland Council

Highland Council engineers have closed a bridge at the Slochd following a traffic survey showing that a significant number of vehicles in excess of the three tonne weight limit have been using it.

They are warning that the Slochd Cottages Bridge on the U2400 Blackmount to Slochd Road is now shut to vehicles but remains open for pedestrians and cyclists.

A council spokesperon said: "Council engineers will be considering options for the future of the bridge and consultations with the community will be held in due course."
