BREAKING NEWS: Motorists advised to find alternative route as Kessock Bridge on the A9 closed in both directions due to police incident

The Kessock Bridge on the A9 near Inverness is closed in both directions due to a police incident.

The closure started about 11am.

Traffic Scotland is advising motorists to take care on approach and use an alternative route if possible.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to a report of concern for a person on the Kessock Bridge, Inverness, around 10.40am on Monday, 5 September.

"Emergency services are in attendance.

"The road is currently closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area."
