A teenager terrorised four 15-year-old boys in Aviemore by brandishing an axe and a corkscrew at them.

Sean Hilson, now living at East Common Way, Scunthorpe but formerly of Cairngorm Avenue, Aviemore, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted an offence under the Communications Act and another of threatening behaviour, both committed in the village on December 23 and 27, 2019.

Sheriff Eric Brown elected not to hear the facts but deferred sentence until June 28 for a background report and a restriction of liberty order assessment.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told 19-year-old Hilson had another case calling then.

Hilson pleaded guilty to sending an offensive message to a boy, making a recording of himself brandishing an axe with the boy's name written on the blade and then instructing another boy to send it to his target.

Hilson also admitted making threats to the same 15-year-old boy named in the axe charge and a fourth teenager four days later in Craig Na Gower Avenue, whilst chasing them brandishing a corkscrew.

Hilson's bail was continued.
