Bollywood blockbuster names Aviemore as the setting for one of its most important scenes
Aviemore train station is the location for a pivotal scene in a critically acclaimed Bollywood blockbuster.
Badla (revenge), released in 2019, and now streaming on Netflix tells the story of a married woman and her dead lover, as she attempts to find his killer.
In the Indian Hindi-language mystery thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Amrita Singh, the story follows an interview between a lawyer and a businesswoman, in which she insists that she is being wrongfully framed for the murder of her lover.
Set in Glasgow, over the course of one evening the businesswoman unravels to a lawyer the story of her affair and the blackmail they have endured. During her retelling of the incident it flashes back in time to some of the places the illicit lovers visited together.
At one scene, filmed at Aviemore train station, the lovers are blackmailed and forced to get on a train, in order to get to a hotel.
Other locations used in the film are the South Portland Street Suspension Bridge in Glasgow, Scotland.
