Boat of Garten man was banned from contacting partner

A Boat of Garten man who was banned from contacting his partner by a bail condition or to be in Inverness was persuaded by her to drive her to a party.

But on the way there on July 26, earlier this year, 30 year old Dylan Ritchie, of Craigie Avenue, crashed his car near Mains of Garten, striking a fence and causing the vehicle to roll.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that on August 6, Ritchie was found at a property in Ashton Road, Inverness, in breach of the special bail condition which only permitted him to be in the Highland capital for court appearances or legal consultations.

He did not cooperate with police who tried to enter the house to apprehend him by tensing his arms and legs.

Ritchie pleaded guilty to failing to report an accident, breaching bail and resisting arrest.

Sentence was deferred until February 8, next year, for a background report.
