A Strathspey watchdog will be re-formed after enough new faces came forward.

Boat of Garten Community Council has been in abeyance but will now be active again thanks to John Dickson and Alison Morris.

There were not enough candidates to trigger an election.

Four watchdogs will return in total following last month's announcement of interim community council elections for eight Highland communities.

Highland Council confirmed that Acharacle Community Council, Culloden Community Council and Melvich Community Council will start up again too.

However, four communities are still without their watchdogs following the closure of nominations and the withdrawal.

They failed to attract half the maximum membership so have not been established.

They are Conon Bridge Community Council, Cradlehall and Westhill Community Council, East Nairnshire Community Council and Shieldaig Community Council

The next round of interim community council elections are due to take place in Spring 2023 with the notice of election going live on January 9, next year.
