Details of planned remedial works were presented by Highland Council officers at a public meeting on Thursday, July 14, where a series of concerns over work done and work planned were aired by local individuals and business people.

A spokesperson for the council told the Strathy this week: "As a result of challenges in the production of the contract documents, the Highland Council has regrettably concluded that an on-site start date in Autumn 2022 is no longer possible.

"The work will now be postponed until Spring 2023 - revised dates will be communicated in due course.

"Officers continue to work towards resolving the outstanding challenges, including those raised by members of the community and local businesses."
