A call has gone out to those – especially of school age – who might qualify.

The Badenoch Heritage: Bringing the Past to the 21st Century Project, in collaboration with the Society of Badenoch & Strathspey Artists is currently holding an open competition to find the best in visual art that can help tell the Story of Badenoch in either two or three dimensions.

Winning entries will get arts supplies and have their work used in the future promotion of Badenoch as a cultural heritage tourism destination.

For primary schoolchildren there are prizes of materials worth £100, £50 and £25 and the closing date is June 21.

For older entrants and adults there will be another deadline, which is yet to be announced.

Project officer Oliver O'Grady said: "We are especially keen to get more entries from school aged youngsters."

For further details about how to enter check out the Iona Gallery website: http://www.theionagallery.co.uk/ or contact artscomp@vabs.org.uk.

Entries will have the opportunity to be publicly exhibited at locations throughout Badenoch.
