Badenoch says ‘Yes!’ to the nation’s great poet

Great chieftain o’ the puddin’ race - that’s Grant Frazer!

A true master of ceremonies, he made his point very sharply last night in addressing the haggis on behalf of Yes Badenoch and Strathspey Group’s birthday tribute to the Bard.

Despite the wintry gales of Storm Eowyn through the early part of the weekend, Newtonmore Golf Club was full for a fantastic supper where the packed programme was completed to great effect.

After the Selkirk Grace from Rev Robert Brookes, warming soup was served and the haggis was piped in for Grant to do his stuff.

Fu’ with the haggis, neeps and tatties the diners were treated to The Immortal Memory from local walking and broadcasting legend Cameron McNeish.

Andrew Wilson recited Tam o’ Shanter with gusto and a Burns Sing-a-long was later led by Grant Frazer and Morag Barr.
