A9 restrictions lifted at Dalwhinnie after car and motorbike collision

A motorcyclist has been hospitalised after a road accident near Dalwhinnie.

A police spokesperson told the Strathy that the incident had happened at 2.55pm this afternoon.

“We received a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the A889 Old Military Road near Dalwhinnie.

“Emergency services attended and the male motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment.”

After the incident traffic was restricted on the A9 in both directions, with Traffic Scotland advising motorists to approach the Dalwhinnie stretch with caution, or even avoid it. But the road is now no longer on the current incidents list.
