Badenoch MSP welcomes funding for Cairngorms transport company

Badenoch MSP Kate Forbes has said she hopes the Badenoch and Strathspey Community Transport Company will continue for many years after they received a six-figure funding boost.

The project was recently awarded £112,500 from the National Lottery Community Fund, and it is understood that the group will use the money to continue to deliver its community transport service and social inclusion work over the next three years.

The local community transport company will be able to continue with its important road linking people and communities.

The community organisation operates across Badenoch and Strathspey, and it will also be delivering befriending work and connecting people to social activities as well as other services in the area.

Ms Forbes previously visited the project a couple of years back, and has kept tabs on their development since.

She said: “I’m delighted to see this additional resource for the Badenoch and Strathspey Community Transport company, which do a phenomenal job of work for the Badenoch and Strathspey communities.

“I spent a few hours with them a couple years ago and was very impressed with their commitment to serving people in the community.

“I wish them well with this additional resource.”
