Badenoch stops on MSP's mammoth tour
Next week Kate Forbes MSP will be in Badenoch as she continues her mammoth summer tour of her vast Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency.
As well as holding seven surgeries in venues such as Aviemore, Dalwhinnie, Laggan and Newtonmore, the Badenoch MSP will be popping into Alvie and Dalraddy estate, Thunder in the Glens and also spending time with local police officers at Aviemore station.
Over the summer Ms Forbes is clocking up over 2,500 miles – the equivalent of doing the North Coast 500 route five times – and she is keen to meet as many constituents and businesses as possible.
She told the Strathy: “I’m looking forward to the Badenoch leg of my summer tour. With a constituency that stretches from Dalwhinnie to Dingwall, it’s important to use the summer to meet people.
“Badenoch has faced enormous challenges in the last few years, with the pressures on the Mountain, but it is home to so many fantastic businesses and lively communities.
“It has its fair share of frustrations, with a shortage of affordable housing, and I am very mindful that I have to work closely with local people to find solutions to these issues. I hope to see lots of people and discuss all manner of subjects.”
