Badenoch hustings to be rescheduled

Monday’s atrocity at Manchester which killed 22 also claimed Badenoch and Strathspey’s only hustings for the June 8 general election.

Candidates of most parties were due to meet tonight (Wednesday, May 24) at Kingussie’s Talla nan Ros to discuss their policies on environmental issues but with the campaign suspended the event was cancelled at the 11th hour.

A spokesman for the Badenoch and Strathspey Conservation Group said: "We hope to stage the event on another date.

"We’re looking at May 26 or possibly June 2."
