Badenoch giants drawn together in MacTavish Cup
Kingussie and Newtonmnore have been drawn together in the semi-final of the cottages.com MacTavish Cup.
Fans had been hoping that the two Badenoch giants would be kept apart with the chance of progressing to the final against lower league opposition.
Derek Keir, chief executive of the Camanachd Association, said: “The semi-final draw has confirmed that a team from the National Division will contest the first major final of the year.
"Both Strathglass and Glenurquhart will have their eye on reaching the final. Similarly, Newtonmore and Kingussie will see this as an opportunity to take the first silverware of the season.
"We would like to wish all teams the best of luck”.
Stuart Walkden, owner acquisition manager for cottages.com said: “The first two rounds of the competition produced some fantastic matches, and we eagerly await the semi-finals.
"We would like to wish all those taking part the best of luck and can’t wait for the final!”
The semi-final draw was made earlier today at Bught Park in Inverness prior to the final round of the UHI Cup for Primary Schools.
The ties are as follows: Strathglass v Glenurquhart (May 18th); Newtonmore v Kingussie (May 25).
