With 2025 all but here are you ready to break the ice?

It might be literally too, the way the forecast is looking. Things are certainly set to cool down for Wednesday’s big New Year’s Day Dip at Loch Insh.

“Join us for our annual splash!” invites Loch Insh Outdoor Centre.

But they’re calling for formal registration before everyone wets their whistle (or whatever).

At just a tenner a time they say the adventure is good value - especially since the money raised by the venture will go towards the village’s excellent school, Alvie Primary.

“We are limiting numbers this year to aid parking,” said a spokeswoman at the Boathouse.

“We need people to book your slot now please - and to fill your cars to the max!”

Registration forms will be available on New Year’s morning from 9.30am, with the big dip scheduled for 10.30 am, at £10 entry fee donation.

“We ask all participants t to sign up online now - at least, before 11am on Hogmanay.”

The Boathouse Restaurant will be open for breakfast rolls until 12 noon

“Please everyone, allow some extra time for parking as this can get quite busy - and do car share as much as you can!”
