Badenoch gateway £380,000 resurface
Resurfacing works costing £380,000 will start at the gateway to Badenoch on the A9 next week.
An upgrade is planned for 800m of the road at the pass of Drumochter to make it more durable and safe.
The improvements are the second phase in a programme of work on the southbound carriageway that began in March.
The resurfacing is scheduled to start on Friday, August 14, and will last until Friday, August 28.
The improvements will be carried out from 7am-7pm, Monday to Friday, with no works planned at weekends.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, a 10mph convoy traffic management system will be in operation.
A lane closure will remain in place outwith the specified working hours.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s north west unit representative, said: "These works will lead to a much improved road surface when they are complete, enhancing the quality of the transport links in the area as well as improving safety for the travelling public.
"Some disruption may be experienced as a result of these works, however, the safety of our workforce as well as the public is paramount.
"All possible efforts to reduce disruption as much as possible will be taken.
"We would like to thank motorists in advance for their patience and also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out."
