TWO Badenoch businesses have been caught selling alcohol to minors.

The police confirmed that two off-sales premises failed to ask young people for proof of age when they ran a recent test purchasing operation in the strath.

The scheme involved a fully briefed teenager (under 18 years of age) being sent into licensed businesses under controlled conditions to purchase alcohol.

The force say a further 15 premises were checked in the area and in Skye and Lochalsh and passed when the test was carried out on Friday, May 23.

The two premises that failed will be re-tested, following which a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
