Badenoch and Strathspey roads see temperatures plummet





This morning's Highland Council roads report posted at 7.17 confirmed that temperatures were well below zero throughout the area.

"All routes are to be treated as well as footpaths," a spokesperson said.

There were no overnight issues.

On surrounding Inverness-shire routes at 5.58 very low road surface temperatures were recorded, but the roads were mainly dry.

"Caution advised while driving on the network with all routes and paths being treated. No overnight issues."

The UK Met Office has a Yellow weather warning in place today through to noon today for snow and ice for much of the Highland region.

A further yellow warning for snow and ice will be in place from noon tomorrow (Tuesday) to noon on Thursday.
