Parades planned this weekend from Strathspey to Badenoch

As Remembrance Day approaches, across Badenoch and Strathspey communities are preparing to honour the sacrifices made on their behalf by The Fallen.

Here are some of the services lined up:

A Community Act of Remembrance will be held in Kingussie on Sunday at 10.50 am in The War Memorial, Gynack Gardens, with all welcome.

The Aviemore & Rothiemurchus branch of the Royal British Legion (Scotland) will hold Armistice Day acts of remembrance on Sunday at the Norwegian Stone in Glenmore at 9.30am and later at the village’s own award-winning memorial at 11am, with parade participants mustering at the RBLS Members Club at 10.30am.

Villagers and visitors at Dalwhinnie will be gathering at 3pm in front of the War Memorial on Sunday.

Grantown will see a two-day remembrance: on Sunday at 9.45 worshippers will gather at Inverallan Church, while at 10.45 a parade will march at the war memorial with the two-minute silence scheduled for 11am.

At Kincraig War Memorial the parade will gather at 10.45 for their service and two minutes silence at 11, with refreshments provided as usual in the church hall afterwards.

At Nethy Bridge the congregation will be gathering at the Golf Course car park at 1pm on Sunday.

On Monday a service will take place from 10.45am outside the RBL Scotland Strathspey branch clubrooms.
