"Don't be fooled by positive temperatures" says roads team

After the morning's survey the news at 8.12am was: "Positive temperatures this morning, so no treatment action required first thing.

"But cold, icy, snowy conditions are forecast to return this afternoon, so treatment anticipated from mid-morning."

In the outlying area aroundd the Highland capital the news was of wet roads with positive temperatures and "No known issues."

Maps of the Council’s gritting routes by priority and policy are available online at www.highland.gov.uk/gritting
