Be out there at 11pm tonight in Badenoch and Strathspey for more of this!

The most powerful solar storms in 21 years have been producing a spectacular light show over Badenoch and Strathspey - among other areas, of course!

But since the charged particles started bursting through the atmosphere a couple of days ago there has been a non-stop display and more is expected tonight.

Here’s just a sample of some of the magical images captured yesterday by phoners and photographers across the strath, with all the action in the skies to the south of the area, as the oxygen (green) and nitrogen (purple, blue and pink) burst into gorgeous fronds of gentle, noiseless light above us.

For those who want more, be ready round at 11pm.
