Cyber attack shelves still struggling in Newtonmore, Kingussie, Aviemore
Badenoch and Strathspey is still way short of its full essential supplies following last week’s devastating cyber attacks on both the Co-operative Group and Mars & Spencer.
At Aviemore many of the shelves stay bare although non-essentials are well stacked and some fruit and veg has been getting through as a check on Tuesday afternoon bore out.
At Aviemore’s "Simply Food" the product line at Marks & Spencer is still affected by the attack, which caused widespread disruption to M&S's operations.
A company spokesperson said: “The cyber attack resulted in a temporary shutdown of online orders, impacting M&S's ability to serve customers. While some in-store services have resumed, online orders are still suspended.
“Additionally, hackers gained access to some customer data, including names, addresses, and phone numbers, though M&S states passwords and usable card details were not compromised.”
In Badenoch, customer Ruaridh Ormiston told the Strathy: “We struggled to get anything to buy to eat for dinner last night from the Co-op at Newtonmore - salad section in fridge empty - just guacamole !
“That must be near 10 days now? You would have thought it would be sorted by now. I have seen that Skye is really suffering as they have little choice - just like Newtonmore and kingussie.”
