Badenoch and Strathspey revealed as one of the best places in Great Britain for affordable adventure

Badenoch and Strathspey has scored well in a new ranking revealing whereabouts in Great Britain outdoor enthusiasts and intrepid travellers can find more adventure for their money this summer.

Looking at locations renowned as adventure travel destinations, HomeToGo used internal price insights to assign scores to more than 100 rural towns and villages.

Points were given for the affordability of holiday accommodation in each area plus the number of hiking paths, biking trails and climbing routes listed nearby.

The resulting ranking names 12 Scottish, seven Welsh and six English destinations amongst the top 25 places to visit for a great value trip.

Capel Curig in Conwy soared to take the top spot with a score of 36.5 out of a possible maximum of 40.

Cumbria’s Keswick and Aviemore followed in second and third place, earning scores of 32.3 and 27.8 respectively.

Kingussie and Grantown also made the top 10.

Eleanor Moody, HomeToGo spokesperson and UK travel expert, commented: "We’re seeing high summer demand for domestic holiday destinations that are famed for their outdoor activities.
