Speysound's man in Bethlehem
The strath’s community radio station will be hearing direct from the capital of Christmas in its challenging series The New Normal tomorrow night.
In a link with the birthplace of Jesus Christ at Bethlehem, Speysound Radio will hear how the city is planning to celebrate in challenging circumstances.
Quite apart from being the capital of three different religions – Roman Catholic Greek Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic Church, the city will also be coping with the Covid-19 pandemic as it prays for ‘a just peace’ and renewed health.
It makes for an interesting programme, says host Ian Hall.
The New Normal – Exploring Life Issues from a Christian Faith Perspective, launched on air last month, debating ‘does truth matter?” and prompting plenty of healthy discussion in Badenoch and Strathspey.
Paul Calvert, who runs Radio Hayah in Bethlehem, will take a guest spot along with Elaine Storkey, author and broadcaster.
The show with Mr Hall and fellow presenter Gillian Orr, entitled An Alternative Perspective on Christmas, is on between 5pm-6pm and will involve input from a variety of people as well as songs and discussion.
The programme is broadcast on FM107 and at www.speysound.com and repeated Tuesday 3pm-4pm, Thursday 1pm-2pm and Saturday 2am-3am.
In January the spotlight will then be on work with refugees at the jungle in Calais, while it existed.
