Aviemore's Christmas Eve parade called off due to Covid concerns
Aviemore will be without its traditional Christmas Eve parade for a second year as Covid continues to take its toll on local events.
Organisers Aviemore Community Enterprise and the village's community council had been far advanced with arrangements for the popular procession along Grampian Road to the Cairngorm Hotel.
But ACE chairwoman Jude Bell said: "We have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel this year's Christmas Eve procession.
"We feel that this is the responsible course of action given the rapid spread of Covid and the inevitable concerns about public safety."
This year's parade led by Santa and his reindeer had been due to leave from the British Legion at around 6pm and continue to the Cairngorm Hotel for carol singing and fireworks
