Aviemore gets its watchdog back
Aviemore and Vicinity Community Council has returned after a couple of months in abeyance.
The watchdog has reformed after new members were found and office bearers are now in place.
Pete Long, chairman, said they are all looking forward to getting down to business again.
The two office bearers for the community council are Elspeth Byrne (secretary) and Kathleen Cameron (treasurer).
Mr Long said “I’m delighted that the community council is back. As Covid restrictions start to lift, it promises to be a busy year for Aviemore.
"We are looking forward to playing our part."
Secretary Elspeth Byrne said: “I’m quite new to the community council but I have seen how we are all working to make Aviemore even better and I want to be part of that.”
Treasurer and long-standing member Kathleen Cameron said “It’s good to be back.
"We still can’t meet in person but our meetings are open to all. We hope that more local people will get involved.”
Aviemore Community Council's website is down at the moment but updates are being posted on Facebook.
The first meeting of the new-look watchdog will be April 8 at 7pm.
